Skyanalog, OEM maker of high-end cartridges for a number of high profile companies, expands its business with a range of its own branded handcrafted cartridges, which are now available in Australia.
Australian hi-fi products distributor Audio Magic has taken up the Skyanalog brand of handmade cartridges, bringing them into Australia as part of its prestigious product portfolio. Skyanalog was started back in 1999 by Jack Leung, an electrical and telecommunications engineer with an early childhood passion for DIY audio and music. Later in life, Leung manifested his long-term desire to establish his own hi-fi brand, giving birth to Skyanalog.
Skyanalog produces precision engineered and fully hand made Moving Coil (MC) cartridges in Guangdong, China. The entire product line up of entry-level P series, mid-level G series and the top-tier Reference series will be available in Australia. The Reference series features the REF MC cartridge while the G series offers the G-1 Mk II, G-2 Mk II and G-3 Mk II MC cartridges and, finally, the P series P-1, P-2, P-1M and P-1 Green cartridges fill out the offerings.
Skyanalog cartridges feature sapphire, boron and aluminium cantilevers and micro-ridge conical, elliptical and diamond stylus tips which vary depending on the model. The combination of high quality componentry, meticulous construction by expert artisan craftspeople, and extremely flat frequency response make for cartridges which promise longevity, reliability and excellent sonic performance.
