DALI Expands Its Epikore Line

Inspired by the no-holds-barred ‘Kore’ loudspeakers, DALI now introduces the new Epikore line, crowned by the Epikore 11, with new and direct trickle down technologies developed from the company’s flagship design.

The new Epikore range is a reflection of DALI’s 40 years of designing and engineering some of the most advanced speakers in the industry. The range includes the top-of-the-line Epikore 11 (read review here), a large 4.5-way speaker sporting seven DALI proprietary drivers per cabinet. The mammoth speaker features four 200 mm SMC Gen-2 woofers (two above and two below the EVO-K tweeter and midrange driver module) and DALI’s trademark 10 mm by 55 mm ‘EVO-K’ Planar Magnetostatic tweeter coupled to a 35 mm soft dome tweeter. The Epikore line introduces a brand new 165 mm ‘Clarity Cone’ titanium voice coil midrange driver and applies the Clarity Cone technology to its bass drivers too. The Epikore 11 is quoted with a frequency response of 20 Hz to 34 kHz +/-3dB, a sensitivity of 89dB (2.83V/1m) and a nominal impedance of 4 ohms.

The 4-way Epikore 9 is the next largest speaker (there are three floorstanders in the line) and it employs the same Planar Magnetostatic tweeter, soft dome tweeter and midrange drivers coupled to two 200 mm SMC Gen-2 woofers, again in a D’Appolito array. Frequency response for the Epikore 9 spans from 29 Hz to 34 kHz +/-3dB while its sensitivity is 88dB (2.83V/1m) and its nominal impedance is 4 ohms.

The Epikore 7 is a 3.5-way speaker and is the smallest floorstander in the line. The configuration now features the same two-tweeter arrangement, but it’s now coupled to twin 180 mm mid-bass drivers featuring the new Clarity Cone technology. The Epikore 7 has a frequency response from 35 Hz to 34 kHz +/-3dB, a sensitivity of 88dB (2.83V/1m) and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms.

Finally, the Epikore 3 standmount speaker rounds out the range. Epikore 3 is a large 3-way standmount with the Planar Magnetostatic/dome tweeter module now teamed with a 180 mm mid-bass Clarity Cone driver. Its response is quoted as 42 Hz to 34 kHz +/-3dB, with a sensitivity of 85dB (2.83V/1m) and a nominal impedance of 6 ohms. DALI offers the Epikore Stand, a bespoke, heavy duty design.

The new Epikore line’s beautiful cabinetry is built in Denmark and is available in a number of high quality piano lacquer finishes including High Gloss Black, High Gloss Walnut, and High Gloss Maroon.
