Following on from the release of its 5000 R|Evolution series subwoofers in 2025, low frequency transducer specialist SVS announces the 3000 R|Evolution systems.

The 3000 R|Evolution subwoofers have been designed to deliver much of the technology and performance of the 5000 R|Evolution and 17-Ultra R|Evolution series at a more affordable price point, making SVS subwoofer quality available to a much wider cross-section of music lovers.

Once again, SVS offers a choice of two subwoofers in the SB-3000 R|Evolution sealed cabinet compact design and the much larger PB-3000 R|Evolution twin reflex ported subwoofer. The two models share SVS’s powerful new 330 mm (13-inch) high-excursion high-output driver designed for “untraceable” low distortion and linearity. The driver features a flat-edge-wound “split-wind” voice coil which is said to be highly efficient and low in mass in order to maximise the driver’s responsiveness. The woofer’s motor features a toroidal ferrite magnet system with an embedded premium aluminium shorting ring and a long-excursion advanced suspension system.

The subwoofers feature a built-in Class-D with discrete MOSFET amplifier capable of delivering 1200 watts continuous power and more than 4000 watts peak power. The SB-3000 R|Evolution’s frequency response is given as 17 Hz to 230 Hz +/- 3 dB while its sibling, the PB-3000 R|Evolution’s numbers reflect the reflex ports’ added bandwidth spanning from 16 Hz to 235 Hz +/- 3 dB in Standard Mode (both ports operational) and 17 Hz to 270 Hz +/- 3 dB in Sealed Mode (ports defeated).

Both the SB-3000 R|Evolution and PB-3000 R|Evolution feature an onboard 295 MHz Analogue Devices DSP engine, with SVS claiming it to be the “the most sophisticated and advanced processing engine ever used in a consumer subwoofer”. The DSP features advanced premium DACs capable of a Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) of more than 120 dB which is said to provide large headroom and lower noise.

The bespoke SVS app (iOS and Android) is a comprehensive platform for setting up and controlling the new subwoofers (including other upmarket SVS subwoofers). Some of the functionality encompasses control for volume, and selections for low-pass filter, phase, and polarity. The DSP also handles room gain compensation, port tuning modes for the PB-3000, parametric EQ (six bands), and more.

Connectivity includes socketry for a balanced XLR plus unbalanced RCA/LFE input and output. There’s a USB port for the optional SVS SoundPath wireless audio adaptor, a mini-jack for remote control, a 3V to 12V trigger mini-jack, and a standard IEC socket.

The SB-3000 R|Evolution is available in Gloss Black, Gloss White and Black Ash while its PB-3000 R|Evolution only offers a Black Ash finish. SVS subwoofers are available for audition via importer Interdyn’s Australia wide specialist dealer network.
