In addition to a recent full handover of the company from founder Ian Vermeulen to long-time company associates from German audio specialist HifiPilot, the IOTAVX brand is also newly available in Australia.
Now under the leadership of HifiPilot and its principals Jens Hörmann and Berthold Daubner, IOTAVX produces a wide variety of electronics products in both the multi-channel and stereo spaces. The company’s amplification offerings have been designed by a team of highly skilled engineers with decades of combined experience.
IOTAVX offerings include the multi-tasking NP3 streamer/CD Player and AVXP2-840 stereo power amplifier, both promising extreme value for money (Australian prices are yet to be announced but are said to be in global parity).
Starting at the source, the NP3 is a digital source hub including functionality for streaming from music services such as Spotify, Tidal, Qobuz and much more. Connectivity can be via LAN RJ45 port or Wi-Fi. DLNA and UPnP connectivity allows server and NAS drive functionality. An onboard CD player provides that format’s playback while also allowing data encoded disc playback (WAV, MP3). In addition, the NP3 features in-built DAB+ and FM tuners plus internet radio. The NP3’s DAC is compatible with up to 24-bit/192 kHz resolution data via S/PDIF, AES/EBU, Toslink optical and USB inputs. The onboard volume control allows the NP3 to operate as a preamplifier via analogue outputs.
Said outputs can be mated to the IOTAVX AVXP2-840 stereo power amplifier which features both RCA unbalanced and XLR balanced connectivity (switchable). Power output specifications are stated as 580 watts into 8 ohms and 840 watts into 4 ohms while the quoted Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) is 113dB. Frequency Response is specified as 10 Hz to 35 kHz (+/-1dB). There are two “high-performance” toroidal transformers and a capacitor bank totalling 160,000 micro-Farads within the large chassis.
The IOTAVX product portfolio includes an entire spectrum of electronics including several multi-channel amplification options at high-value price points. The IOTAVX product lines will be available in Australia in February 2024 via local distributor Indi Imports and its network of audio specialist dealers around the country.
